I forgot how exhausting work can be. It is really hard (and nice) starting at a new school, but with new comes questions. "Do you have any kids?" must have been asked a hundred times already and I haven't met the full staff yet. UGH. Otherwise, things seem to be going really well, I am keeping myself very busy in preparing for the start of school.

This year is going to be different. Last year, I was angry. I am still angry, but I am not going to let it define me. I have things going on to take my mind off my TTC. I forgot how good having a life is.

I hope this year brings us all what we most desire.

  1. im going to make you a "NOT YET, STOP ASKING" shirt

  2. I know how much that question can sting. I hope this is the year our dreams become reality too, R. I also hope you love your new school.

  3. Ugh, those questions... So glad you are happy with your job though.

  4. i hope that this year brings you what you most desire.

and you're right, having things that can take your mind off of TTC are a good thing -- and a happy work environment is a really good start. :)

  5. I hope the same thing, for you especially.

  6. Glad to read that you are ready to take on the school year. What lucky kids to have such an incredibly strong individual as a their teacher. You have so much to offer them, R.

I hope the school year is a truly positive one for you. Of course, I also always hope for a baby to arrive in your loving arms.

  7. Yes, isn't it great to be back in the swing of things? I think both you and I spent a little too much time hanging out here online this summer!

I just got "that question" yesterday at lunch from a colleague that I don't work with too closely. But she was really nice about it, saying that she realized it was a sensitive question. She was mostly asking in light of our recent move into the city, which I guess struck her as not be the direction she would expect people to make if they wanted to have kids. But no matter what, the question always stings. Hopefully they will stop asking you soon, once you have other things to talk about. Enjoy the new school and the new year, with everything it has to offer!
