The "Official" Plan

Just got off the phone with the nurse. This is what I decided and she agrees. I am going to wait until Friday night for the miscarriage to happen on its own. If not, I am going to take the misop.rostol and pray that the effects are not hell. I have a WTF appointment scheduled with the Dr. for July 8th, which is far away, but the lab is closed during that time so I wouldn't be able to test the embryos then anyway.

Just heard from A., he used up all his vacation time with Denver trips so no vacation for us. I was really looking forward to getting away. Oh well, I guess I shouldn't be surprised because nothing ever works out the way I want it or need it to.

  1. Well, we haven't been able to take a vacation either. I am still waiting and never expected what happened to us to ever happen either. What is WTF besides bad language? I will be there in July, but not the 8th. I already booked my hotel stay and it is getting busy there. Hope all goes better than you are expecting.

  3. Hey R,

I wish it were a different outcome but I think given everything that happened in the last week I think you find the news somewhat a relief that you can move on and that the freak show is over. Too bad a vacation couldn't be taken...try and make the most of your evenings and weekends...just do anything out of the routine to take a break. Take care

  4. I hope the physical aspects aren't too hard on you. I know it's too much to hope for the emotional aspects to be anything but torture. Hopefully A can take great care of you even if you don't get to take a vacation....

  5. You have to go there for a "What to do next" appointment? I remember having mine over the phone.

  6. I'm so sorry you don't get a vacation. Doesn't it suck when our DH's actually have "real" jobs that don't give them summers off like we teachers have? That is always a struggle for us. If you want to come to NYC for a vacation without A, I'll show you a good time!

  8. I'm coming to NYC too! It'll be an IVFer reunion :)

I'm just so sorry for the way things turned out. I know that does not help one iota, but know that I care, that so many of us care about you.

  9. I am glad you were able to talk to the nurse and get an official plan. I am sorry that the vacation is not meant to be right now. I am sorry for another disappointment for you in all of this.

Thinking of you. I pray that things happen naturally and you don't have to endure the medication.

  13. Can you get away for a weekend at least? St. Anne's Spa is a great getaway location for some R&R and it is so peaceful and tranquil up there. I remember going there after one of our failed cycles and finding peace and solace there in the quiet. I did yoga classes, we went walking, we had massages outside in the gazebos, we hung out in hammocks and talked about what was going on. Best part is that there isn't usually any kids anywhere. It was really decadent...down to the fire in our room with the A/C on full blast. I hope you can get away from this all for a while. Wishing you peace and solace.

  14. I'm sorry you are going through this. As someone who has also had losses, I think you need to honour your sadness and the loss, and allow yourself to grieve. Also, though, remember that lots of women who have had losses go on to have health pregnancies and babies. Even with younger eggs, miscarriages are quite common in the early stages. Women who aren't going through fertility often don't even realize they are pregnant. There are lots of options left! Of course its very sad, but don't give up hope!!

  16. I'm so sorry. I wish you weren't having to go through this. Hopefully you can at least do a weekend getaway at a nice hotel in your area since a full vacation isn't an option.

Count me in for an NYC gathering of IVFers if it is organized.
